Day 22: 9th October, 2012
Today it was the first day in weeks when I actually woke up at 6:00a.m. (I usually wake up at 5:00a.m.). All the girls shared a bathroom...just imagine how each one of us takes to be ready. However we managed to be on time, well not all of us but the majority. We had our morning meeting by the lake, the view was incredible. So we discussed about respecting that other people stayed in the hotel, which meant to avoid noise and screams at midnight. Also we talked about the schedule for today and to manage our time wisely. Bert gave us a paper with a question in it (which was our question for the Handbook). After this we had a delicious breakfast, we all shared yesterday's highlights with everyone. Then we started the purpose of this trip, which was the Handbook of the MPC. We were separated in our usual groups, mine is Kata and Majo. The first task was to brainstorm, my question was How do MPC students learn the legal principles of a free society? We all brainstormed for about 30 minutes and then we shared our work, we received and give feedback and we also helped the others with their ideas. After this we had free time so a group of people went to a "mirador"; we had to walk a little bit but the view was totally worth it. Later we started working on our outline but we were very frustrated because we found out that we really don't know what an outline is. Finally I came up with something that looked like an outline, however I'll make it better. After eating the pizza buffet lunch, I was super full so I went to my room and took a power nap. We then were called to a meeting to solve food issues; we were all committed to take breakfast and dinner at the hotel but anybody was respecting it. I actually didn't want to have dinner today because my stomach ached a lot, so I just told that during the meeting and they understood me. We talked about an hour about this, some people got annoyed. However I think it's good that this is happening to us because we give place to new standards or rules that will create our culture, we'll evolve and learn from others. I spent almost all afternoon and night in my room just thinking, and I actually wrote something in spanish about Lake Atitlán and one moment. I was very excited about it so I shared it with other mpc-ers that weren't having dinner as well. We talked about our passions, talents and how we could share them. I really enjoy that all mpc-ers are very curious and passionate persons. With this last idea on my mind I went to sleep quite early...
