Morning Meeting
Today was the first TED MORNING!! However, we started our day with the announcements: John Blundell is coming at 10:30 and after lunch we'll practice our presentation. Afterwards, I connected my computer and we agreed to watch a TED talk by Steve Johnson: Where good ideas come from. I've seen this TED talk before but this is one of those talks you can watch a dozen of times and you'll always learn something new. It was perfect for this week, because it reminds us that MPC is also a place where good ideas can meet, born and evolve. I really think that words and ideas can change the world, and ideas without humans are impotent. I really look forward to make my ideas a reality and also to share them with anyone, anywhere...you never know if that person can make your idea even better. It's all about letting your mind be explored and exploring other human minds. I think Ted mornings will be great because we can learn so much of this, I'm a big fan of TED :)
Individual Work
I spent all my time filming some students I hadn't and editing the video. I really enjoy doing this, I want to learn more about photography and filming...maybe I'll take some courses in January and I'll share my knowledge with the mpc-ers. It would be great for our documentation and many other projects.
Greek
So today we were notified that Moris isn't returning anymore, which means that he's no longer our facilitator. Why? I guess maybe it's because he's having issues with our system of learning and he's not ready to explore new possibilities. I had hope in him, in the sense that he would put all his effort into learning with us but he didn't and now I think that he is a technocrat, a person who doesn't relish creativity or innovation, which is sad. Anyways, I hope that he has a pedagogical awakening and learn with us in a future.
John Blundell
Today we had a visitor, John Blundell, the dialogue we had was to introduce him to MPC. What is MPC? What do we pursue? What are our challenges and experiences? The dialogue was kind of slow, and I didn't feel that we introduced him to what MPC was, we lacked information and productivity in our rhetoric. I felt that we weren't dialoguing but arguing and many points were not clear. I didn't participate very much because I was lost in the dynamic of the conversation, and I can say that I didn't follow well the rubrics. Something that was crazy is that during the dialogue we experienced an earthquake, which was very strong and I was about to cry! It was horrible and we didn't move at all, we were just in the circle staring at each other and hoping the earthquake finished.
Performing Arts: Presentation
Tomorrow is our presentation, so we practiced today to give each other feedback. We are not there, yet. I know tomorrow will be great but we have a lot to improve on!
Programming & Debriefing
At programming we only did some individual work, I worked on my personal and group goals. However, we were quite stressed because we wanted to practice the presentation all over again. We finished programming class before time, and started practicing. Ingrid gave us feedback, and of course she noticed that we have a lot to improve for tomorrow. I felt her stress. We'll see what happens tomorrow. During debriefing we mostly talked about tomorrow's presentation, our flaws and good things. I have to finish tomorrow the video. And today I learned that we still are lacking organization and time management because we knew about this like two weeks ago. The good thing is that we are on the right track :)
