Morning Meeting
Today I facilitated the morning meeting :) Everyone was at 6:55a.m. in the circle except this people: Alejo, Gabbi, Lorena and Franz. Even though we were early in the circle, everyone seemed too quiet. I guess we were just waiting for the rest of the mpc-ers. At 7:00a.m. sharp I started facilitating the morning meeting, so I asked for announcements or if someone wanted to share something. Diego and Pablito, won a debate contest they had last week. I felt happy for them, they were very happy and I'm proud that they are part of MPC. Also, we decided that every week we'll have a TED morning and we arranged the facilitators of morning meetings for this week. Bert also said to us that today we'll work on our greek and we'll start over to really engage and explore this unknown language. Our schedule will be the one each one of us posted last week.

I was really upset when I found a bunch of dirty cups and plates, I don't know where's the difficulty on washing a cup! However, my team washed them because we were in charge of last week roaster. I wasn't upset for washing them, I just felt disappointed because it seems that we really don't follow our ideals: which include cleanliness and order. Anyways, I cleaned up and washed some other things to have a nice and clean environment. Pablito helped me to cut some flowers, which were placed on a base. They look pretty nice, I was thinking that maybe tomorrow I'll buy some other flowers. I would love to see flowers at the MPC because they light up the environment :)
Individual Work
I took this time to re-read Euthyphro because last time I didn't understand it well enough. I really got the essence now, I could find four definitions to the main question of the dialogue between Socrates and Euthyphro: "What is piety?". It strikes me the curiosity of Socrates and what I like more about him is that he's open to learn from any person. A great lesson I learned form him was to treat everyone as a stranger, and that somehow prejudices and preconceptions about someone can shadow the things we can learn from them.
Epicycle: Euthyphro
The dialogue started with the question, what are the definitions you found for piety? We all contributed to the list of these definitions shown below:
1.The pious is what I am doing, prosecuting the wrongdoer.
2. What is dear to the gods is pious and what is not is impious.
3. Pious is what is love by all the gods. Impious: what the gods hate.
4. Pious is the part of justice, concerned with the care of the gods.
5. Pious is the knowledge of how to sacrifice and pray.
6. Piety is what is dear to the gods.
I had this insight that maybe piety was obedience, and I substituted the word "obedience" for "piety". It made sense. Later we started looking for the exact definition of piety and it was: reverence. And we asked ourselves: To whom do I owe my obedience? Who should I obey? What are you doing? Why are you doing it? What do you obey? Are you acting according to your definition of piety? It left me thinking and reflecting...what is my definition of piety? And my answer is: I create day by day my definition of piety, I act following what I value in every single decision. My definition of piety is constantly evolving.
Afterwards we debriefed the dialogue we've just experienced. We shared insights, comments, feedback. I really enjoyed this dialogue, it was so meaningful for us to think about our definition of piety and who are we obeying? Are we doing it because we value or we are just following? It was amazing, however I do think that we need more participation. Sometimes I keep think, WOW how would be my life be if I wasn't in MPC? I think that I took the best decision ever, because everyday I'm learning and experiencing what we create. It's just incredible!
