A wonderful morning insight...
I really enjoy waking up early, today I got to see the sunrise and it was pink! Literally pink. It's all about seeing things with a different perspective and I feel that sometimes routine shades the beauty that's all around us. "Celebrate what's right with the world to fix what's wrong".
Morning Meeting
Almost everyone was on time today, almost. However, less people are arriving late and that's a good thing. The morning meeting was facilitated by Majo, it was really funny because she had a hard time or an awkward time asking for announcements. She used expressions like "You don't have anything more, really?!". It made me laugh, she's really a passionate person while communicating and I love people like that. After the announcements, she shared with us three AMAZING videos. They were from Vsauce, which is an educational youtube channel created by Michael Stevens. It's about answering questions the majority of people don't even think about, they were very very very very interesting. Here are the links for the three videos: What color is a mirror?, You don't type alone and What is Déjà Vu?. I'll subscribe to the channel, it's great!!

Agora
Time to clean up! All Agora was used to clean up our mess, our space was a total disaster and it didn't represent our standards. I cleaned up my desk and moved some things to have an empty space to work. Also, I set a borderline between Pablito's space and mine (you can see it in the picture on the left). However we have a communal space, which is the box with some food and teas, and our loved bamboo named Bambi. Today I discovered that changing or cleaning the environment in which I work can produce a big effect on me. I feel more like working and I love the way my space looks.

Classical Studies: Greek & Plato:Apology
We started our time of Classical Studies by introducing the activities to learn greek we've brainstormed during our individual time, I must say that my activity wasn't ready at all but I'll bring it next class. The activities were made by Pablito, Lore, Chacho and I. Pablito was the first one to introduce his activity, which was a "memory game" of the words already learned. Some students were super excited about it but others were really unreceptive to it. At the end, some people were engaged and others weren't. I only noticed Gabbi and Alejo being extremely bored and unreceptive. I was upset by this because I think that Pablito put effort and time in doing this for us, there's no need to make sour faces instead they should have gave feedback or ask questions. I guess we'll talk about this on debriefing. I must agree that the activity was not well organized and executed, but that's why we have rubrics! People should've speak up their minds and be real! On the other side, I really enjoy the activity because I was engaged in what they were doing and actually learned new words.
Later on we started our dialogue on the Apology by Plato. I must say that I found Socrates really interesting and wise. We started reading another version, I've read another one, however they're pretty alike. We started reading a paragraph, in which Socrates tells the story of the oracle and how it says that there's no wiser man than Socrates. And so, the inquiries started...What kind of wisdom? Is Socrates boasting with this story? Among my personal inquiries were: What does he means by wisdom? Is Socrates accepting ignorance? How is Socrates explaining his view about the pretense of knowledge? We all agreed that the only wisdom anyone can have is human wisdom and they're accusing Socrates for being human. I think he recognizes his ignorance about some things, he knows he doesn't know everything and he is against the pretense of knowledge. Some meaningful insights people shared in the dialogue were: Socrates is always teaching to others, even in his own defense. People get angry when they hear the truth about themselves. Socrates expresses himself in a very peaceful way. Socrates is an example of humility. He stood for his beliefs and his own truth till his execution. I love Socrates, I wish I had met him. There are so much lessons that we all can learn from him. It's wonderful the fact that he always stood for his own understanding, never imposing and always inviting.
Debriefing on the Classical Studies
As I predicted, we did talk about Pablito's activity issues during debriefing. I didn't say anything because everything I wanted to say was said by Bert and some other mpc-ers before I could. Mabe expressed that she isn't feeling our dialogues insightful, which I totally agree with her but I think that dialoguing deeply is a learning process. And we are getting there, it's just a matter of time and experience.
Performing Arts
Oh Shakespeare! Today we were supposed to have the auditions for Macbeth, however we decided to have a broader panorama of what we were doing and started watching the adaptation of Macbeth by Polanski. I must confess that at the beginning I just didn't understand a thing, but later on I did. It's a hard movie to follow because they talk really weird, I mean they have a very unique accent and there are no subtitles. But still, the movie is providing me with a sense of what is Macbeth all about, which is great.
Greek
Chacho supported us with a brief summary of each chapter of the New Testament Greek Book. It was really helpful and it reminded me that I should catch up with my greek! I was thinking that maybe during this week I'll arrange some greek remedial group but first I want to read the chapters by my own. Learning greek is exciting!
